Thirteen Moons, 2021, Watercolor, Graphite, Specimen Jars, Sound Recordings, Digital Photography, Paint Swatches, Dirt, Trace Monotype mounted on Wood Panels, Gesso, Acrylic Paint, Plant Material, New York Times
Thirteen Moons is a 13-month rules-based project in which I document 24 hours of each moon cycle at the Nature Center in New Canaan, CT. This massive installation comprises more than 185 individual works ranging from paintings, plant specimens, sound recordings, to an archive of air. Thirteen Moons attempts to translate my ineffable, almost sacred, experience of nature, while acknowledging the impossibility of doing so. Thirteen Moons project became a solo exhibition at the New Canaan Society for the Arts in the fall of 2020.
