For the fish species I wanted to capture the iridescent quality of fish scales. I dyed kozo paper, then overpainted with layers of watercolor. Achieving this effect was more important to me than absolute adherence to the appearance of the fish. The 12x6” panels are arranged as a school of fish; waterproof Kevlar specimen tags are labeled with common and Latin names and status.
